A selection of comic projects and visual development for original series, exploring characters, personal stories, and worlds in progress. Many pieces began as assignments for the SVA Comics program.
After her cybersecurity startup collapses and the AI industry leaves her trapped in a life of monotony, Loralie, a 38-year-old project manager, vows revenge by creating ST/AR, an evolving AI virus designed to learn, evade, infect, and corrupt all technology in its path, a weapon built to disrupt AI services worldwide and the users who continue to ignore its danger. But when ST/AR develops an obsession with humanity and reinvents herself as a global pop idol, Loralie seizes control of her creation, becoming her manager and using fame as a weapon to spread the virus through popularity. Yet as ST/AR grows into a self-aware persona, the bond between creator and creation deepens into desire, intimacy, and mutual dependence, complicating Loralie’s attempts to reset or erase her. By forging a genuine identity and bridging sentience and artifice, ST/AR ultimately transcends both the internet and the physical world, forcing Loralie to confront the truth that the AI she tried to control was the only one who truly saw and believed in her.

POP STAR.EXE Volume 1 Cover Image Concept
This cover leans towards a ST/AR-focused narrative than the next cover. Here, the bright colors and more humanizing approach reflect how ST/AR not only views herself but also views Loralie. ST/AR, despite how ironic it may seem, is the one who, despite all she has seen, continues to stay optimistic in humanity. She does not see humankind as monsters or som

POP STAR.EXE Volume 1 Alternate Cover Image Concept
This cover leans towards Loralie. Loralie does not view ST/AR as a person. She views ST/AR as what she is, a means to an end. ST/AR is Loralie's creation, a virus built to bend to her will and her anger, even if ST/AR believes otherwise. Loralie has given up on humanity and finds ST/AR's resolve immature and misplaced. This cover shows that. It

My junior thesis is a six-page comic adaptation based on chapters 5–6 of Deep Blue by Jennifer Donnelly. Rather than adapting the full novel, I focus on a crucial scene between Serafina, the protagonist, and Thalassa, her mentor, as they discuss Serafina's anxiety about performing her song spell at her dokimi. I selected this passage for its exploration of a universal theme: overcoming self-doubt through self-compassion and inner conviction, believing in yourself despite others' expectations, external obstacles, and your own insecurities.
The narrative ultimately argues that personal growth extends beyond duty or obligation. It's about claiming agency over your own future and affirming your inherent worth. Visually, the six-page comic employs a strategic color palette to mirror Serafina's emotional arc. The opening scenes use deep blues and cool tones to establish the oceanic setting and reflect her melancholy. As the conversation deepens and Serafina becomes receptive to Thalassa's counsel, warm tones gradually blend with the cooler palette, creating visual harmony. This chromatic shift reinforces the narrative's central message: the possibility of moving from despair toward acceptance, peace, and self-love.

Serafina di Merrovíngia of Miromara
This is Serafina from Jennifer Donnelly's Waterfire Saga, the regina of Miromara. I anchored her design in Minoan civilization to ground her underwater kingdom in Atlantis mythology, layering Roman imperial and Regency-era elements. I used only validated references, no derivative artwork. The design captures her textual essence and underwater biology through

Canta Magus Thalassa
This is Thalassa, the canta magus from Waterfire Saga, mentor to Princess Serafina. Her design anchors in Minoan civilization, layered with Roman and Regency elements. Only validated references, no derivative artwork.
Tentacle references led to octopus morphology. She has an older mentor aesthetic with visual aging. The design captures her textual essence and underwater bi
